CONCORDIA for a safe home
There are many reasons why children and adolescents cannot grow up with their biological parents. In order to nevertheless provide these children and young people with a sheltered childhood, CONCORDIA offers a safe home.
CONCORDIA ENSURES A SAFE HOME. THROUGH PROFESSIONAL ON-SITE ASSISTANCE.
Assisted crisis living groups
When children in current crises have to leave their families, they are placed in supervised residential groups. There they live together in small groups. A team consisting of social workers, psychologists, educators and caregivers jointly takes over the tasks of the family of origin: from organizing everyday life to psychological care for the children.

Family type living groups
In family-like residential groups, a maximum of eight children and young adults live together with trained educators in a CONCORDIA house. Many young adults live in their own residential units with the support of CONCORDIA. Some children have been successfully returned to their families of origin. Those who cannot be reintegrated into their families of origin remain in small residential groups where they find peace, security and support as well as the individual attention they so urgently need.
Placement in foster family
Children who need special protection and for whom reintegration into the family of origin is out of the question find a new long-term home in a CONCORDIA foster family. The foster parents often also bring along biological children. Up to seven children can live together in a family household. The parents are carefully selected by CONCORDIA and undergo a thorough training. They are accompanied by mobile CONCORDIA teams consisting of social workers and psychologists.

Assisted living communities for adolescents and young adults
One of our major goals is to enable adolescents and young adults to go their own way and live independently. In order to give them the opportunity to try out their independence, CONCORDIA offers supervised shared apartments as a transitional form in which they live independently. They are accompanied and supported in case of problems by a team of social workers and social pedagogues who visit them regularly. All young people have a fixed reference person who supports them with challenges in their education and job search and introduces them to an independent life.
